Introduction to the principles, practice and techniques of game design, including game design theory and history, research and development, character and environment concepts, design specifications and user interaction design. Case studies of contemporary games are an integral part of lectures and laboratory exercises. Working individually or in teams, students research, write, design, storyboard and pitch game ideas. Industry-standard software applications may be used.For hybrid and online sections, minimum technology requirements are a working camera and microphone. Students are to switch both on at the instructor’s request.
