Degree Designation
The professional certificate program in Career and Technology Education an advanced-level certificate that consists of 31 credits and enables completers to apply and be recommended for the New York State Professional Certificate through the approved program pathway before completing the Bachelor of Science in Education in Career and Technical Teacher Education degree program.
Professional Licensure
Completers of the program can apply for the New York State initial teaching certificate if they meet requirements for NYS mandatory workshops. See the NYSDOE Office of Teaching Initiative website for further information.
Accreditation
Initial Certificate in Career and Technical Teacher Education program is accredited by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP).
Advisement Information
Students who have questions or need guidance about the program can request a meeting with the department. To seek advice, students can either fill out a pre-advisement form or visit the department office in Pearl 510 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Department faculty offer advisement hours during the week, and students can request a meeting directly through the advisement booking link.
